Weekend Activities

During weekend, normally we will just stay at home. I prefer to stay at home after tiring weekdays with their school and my house chores. It is time for relaxing, watching tv, surfing the internet and the most important thing, to spend quality time together.

However, sometimes we will plan for family outing, either to go for picnic, shopping or just having our breakfast, lunch or dinner outside at our favourite restaurant. Once or twice in a month, we will go to my hubby's hometown in Papar (balik kampung). Sometimes, we plan for a day trip to Tambunan, Tenom or even stay overnight in Kota Kinabalu.

Trip to Sabah Agriculture Park, Tenom
Borgainvillea Court in Tenom
Trip to Fishing Park, Keningau
Trip to TVRC, Tambunan

Anyway, our kids like doing their art works too during weekend. Of course they will be monitored by their daddy. Otherwise, they will make a mess...hmmm...they don't want to hear me complaining about the cleanliness! Ha..ha..No matter what, as their parents, we should encourage and give them support.

Acting like a pro, huh?

Their 1st Day At Kindergarten

Both of them are schooling at Tadika St Francis Xavier, Keningau, Sabah. It was tough for me to handle them for a few days. Luckily on their second week at school, they are getting better. For more pictures or stories, you may read it in my another personal blog (http://babyrennayon.blogspot.com).

We are so proud of our kids because they learn something new easily. Both of them can sing our national song, Negaraku and Sabah Tanah Airku very well. Even our youngest son can say 'Our Father' prayer out loud. The best thing is when they got home and they teach me a new song everyday!

They have different interest in studies. Our eldest son, Randall is more to Alphabet and colouring while our youngest son, Randy is more to Music, Numbers and drawing but he don't like to read compare to Randall. Oh well, as long as they are good in their subjects, we will be satisfied. We can't force them to study but we must encourage them and give them support. I'm so glad because my hubby is a teacher. Therefore, he'll monitor them with their homeworks.

Holidays

My hubby is a teacher. Therefore, he'll be free as well during school holidays. I'm very lucky because he's very helpful at home and he's very good in cooking too! So, I can rest as much as I wanted to.

Anyway, we love traveling. We are staying in Keningau right now, but nothing much to see here. Sometimes, we go to Tenom, which is about 1 hour drive from here or just hanging around Keningau. Sometimes we go back to my hubby's hometown in Papar, which is about 1 hour 45 minutes drive from here.

I still remember our first family vacation in Kota Kinabalu (KK). We are so excited eventhough my hubby and I have been to KK many times but this is the first time we bring our kids together. Actually, my eldest sister is staying in KK area, but I don't want to bother her. We decided to stay at the hotel, easy for us to go anywhere we like.

Our first experience is very tough yet funny. My kids are too noisy in the hotel room! 'Ndak pandai duduk diam!' Luckily on their second stay in the hotel and onwards, they are used to it. Everytime we go to KK, I will make sure to book a room WITH a bathtub as my kids enjoy taking their baths in the bathtub. 'Ala-ala swimming pool konon...' Well, goverment staff entitled a lot of discounts if they stay in any hotel. They just need to show their ID card upon check in. Our favourite hotel is Imperial Hotel because of it strategic location. Just nearby the shopping malls, clinic, banks and even our favourite Big Apple Donuts outlet.

We used to stay in Le-Meridien, Novotel, Grand Borneo Hotel (Known as Mercure Hotel before), Kinabalu Daya Hotel, Tang Dynasty and Courtyard Hotel. All you have to do is to make booking in advance and enjoy the discounts! Well, it depends on our budget too. If we don't have enough budget, we just do a day trip to KK. It's only 2 hours drive from Keningau.

By the way, when we are in KK, our favourite family restaurant is of course KFC, Chicken Rice Shop, Secret Recipe or La Manila Cafe in Wawasan Plaza but to me, the best place to eat is in Tanjung Aru Beach. 'Jangan lupa singgah di gerai beli jagung dan kacang rebus!'

Another great place to bring your family is Lok Kawi Zoo. We have been there twice! My kids are so happy to see an elephant in front of them. You can also go to Waterworld with your family.

@ Lok Kawi Zoo

Eventhough I'm not a shopaholic person, but I like to go to 1Borneo Hypermall in KK. I like the decorations there especially during Christmas Season. Lots of good restaurants there too and the most important thing, the Boo Boo Land (playground) for my kids to play. There's also Big Apple Donuts outlet at 1Borneo.

Having fun @ Boo Boo Land, 1B

Oh well, hubby and I are saving money for another great family vacation soon in Kuala Lumpur (KL). My last visit to KL is in 2000!! I really want to bring our kids to Genting Highlands. I'm very sure they gonna like it.

Their Favourites

Most of the people who meet us will ask whether my kids are twins or not. Maybe because they like to wear the same shirts, same pants, same slipper, same shoes and everything must be the same! I don't realise about it at first but when we do the shopping with them, they always want the same thing! Luckily both of them are boys, so easy for us to match everything.

Apart from their appearances, they also have same taste in foods. They both don't like to eat vegetable except for brocolli, celery and cauliflower. Same as their mummy, they love to eat Big Apple Donuts and KFC as well! Ha..ha..but it doesn't mean we will have it everyday huh!

Our fav Big Apple Donuts!

Anyway, both of them really like to watch Discovery Channel, Animal Planet Channel and not forgetting cartoon networks! Their favourite cartoons are Shaun The Sheep and Tom & Jerry! One more thing, they can't sleep without their 'bantal busuk'...ha..ha..but when we are staying in a hotel, they won't bring their pillows because they are ashamed of it! Thanks God! Otherwise, I don't know how to carry their pillows into the hotel...

Wearing Tom & Jerry pyjamas. Not forgetting their Shaun The Sheep!

Eventhough they are like twins, but my eldest son is more to sports. He loves playing soccer, same as his daddy while my youngest son is more to arts. He loves singing very much and a bit shy compare to his brother. When at home, they like to play together but when they quarrel, it give me headache! Ha..ha..but normally, it will only lasted for 10 minutes!

I really hope that the love between them will be lasted forever. When we are no longer in this world, we are hoping for them to always protect each other, Amen.

Randy Victor Ronney

Randy Victor Ronney, our second son, was born on 14th June 2005 at 10.07 a.m. His weight is only 2.9kg, also with a normal birth procedure. There's an interesting story about his birth. Doctor told me that my expected due date is supposed to be on July or early August.

Randy inside my womb

Actually, when I was pregnant my second son, my ex colleague, who is also my best friend (Marie Assunta Peter) is in the hospital. According to older people, pregnant lady is not really allowed to visit anyone in the hospital but she's my best friend. I have to visit her because when I was in need, she always there for me. So, I don't bother about it as I know that God is with me and my baby.
Marie is very sick. She didn't recognize me when I came with my hubby to visit her. I was so sad to see her condition. One day, she was admitted to the ICU. I talked to her and hoping for her to recover. I told her that I was pregnant another baby boy and she need to recover to see my baby. Unfortunately, she passed away on the 1st May 2005. I was so sad but I try to let it go slowly as I need to take care of my pregnancy, my other son and loving hubby.

On the 13th June 2005, I started to feel the back ache but I don't bother about it too much as my due date is in another month! However, I can't sleep well that night and I decided to go to the hospital the next morning. When I arrived there, the nurse told me that I'll give birth that day. OMG! I was shocked because I'm not ready yet. It's too early from the expected due date. I was so scared but then I remember that on that day (14th June) is also Marie's birthday! I went to the labour room and keep on praying, telling my baby bla..bla..bla...then I gave birth easily as my first son. Thanks God!

Randy's first step

On Randall's 2nd birthday

Randy's name was given by his dad because it was his turn to choose a name. I did breast feed him until the aged of 2 years but soon after that, Randy was so closed to his dad! Oh well, there's no favouritism between me and my hubby, we love both of them. By the way, among family members, we used to call him 'adik'.

Randy's chubby cheek

Same as Randall, mummy and daddy also hoping for the best in your future life. Randy seems to love arts more than his brother. However, Randall is more to sports, same as his daddy. He loves playing soccer and even doing magic tricks like his uncle!

Randall Vince Ronney

Randall Vince Ronney, our first son, was born on 24th February, 2004 at 8.04 a.m. His weight is only 2.5 kg with a normal birth procedure. I'm very lucky because this is my first experience in giving birth but it's very easy. I did feel the back ache for a while but soon after I was in the labour room, my baby came out easily.

Randall inside my womb

2 weeks old

My friends and relatives came to visit us and most of them said that my baby looks exactly (100%) like his daddy. Oh well, he's my hubby too..ha..ha..even until today (at the aged of 6) their faces are still looks the same. That's why, Randall don't really get along with his dad. He's more closed with me.

With daddy on Randall's 1st bday

Randall at the aged of 1 yr, 5 mnths (A mtnh aft I gave birth to my 2nd son)

By the way, I named him Randall because both me and my hubby's name are starting with the letter 'R', so I choosed Randall. When I was pregnant, I used to watch Akademi Fantasia a lot (reality singing programme) and my favourite finalist is Vincent Chong or Vince. I said to myself if Vince is the winner, I'll named my son, Randall Vince. That's how I got that name but among family members, we used to call him 'abang'.

Now, Randall is 6 years old and even naughtier than before...gosh! Sometimes I can't stand his naughtiness, but we are naughty too when we are kids, right? My mom always said that Randall's face is more to daddy but his attitude is more like me? Meaning to say that I'm always give my mom a headache too!!! Ha..ha..I am 'keras kepala, degil, kasar' but that's my childhood attitudes. I'm changing a lot after married...hu...hu...even not 100% huh? (Thanks darling for understanding me!)

Mummy and daddy are so proud to have you as our precious son. We will keep on praying for the best in your future life. We might not be perfert parents but we are trying our best in raising you up.
